Canterbury Islamic Centre

Canterbury Islamic Centre

At Canterbury Islamic Centre, we are dedicated to serving the social, cultural, and faith-based needs of the Muslim community. Our doors are open not only to local residents but also to students and visitors from across the UK and abroad, offering a welcoming space for connection and support.

Worship and Education

  • We hold daily prayers and the Friday service for men, women, and children.
  • Our Sunday School and Arabic language classes provide children and teenagers with a strong foundation in faith and language, hosted at the university campus.

Community Engagement

  • We actively collaborate with key institutions including the Local Police Force, City Council, Prison Services, Local Hospitals, the University of Kent, Cadma, Candifa, and other statutory and voluntary bodies.
  • By fostering dialogue and cooperation, we encourage social inclusion and build bridges between the Muslim community and the wider society.

Support and Guidance

  • We stand beside bereaved families, offering advice, prayers, and assistance in arranging burials with the guidance of the Imam and the committee.
  • Our centre is a source of comfort and solidarity during life’s most challenging moments.

Sustainability and Growth

  • The Centre is funded solely through donations and charitable events, ensuring that every contribution is used for peaceful and beneficial purposes.
  • We are currently extending our mosque building to better serve the growing community. This project is a significant undertaking, and we warmly welcome any donations to help us achieve this vision.
