South Woodford Islamic Centre
South Woodford Islamic Centre (commonly called “SWIC”) is managed and operated by Qur’ani Murkuz Trust which was established as a charitable trust pursuant to a Declaration of Trust by its founder trustees in February 2000 and registered with the Charity Commission on 29 June 2000. Its charity number is 1081317.
From a small shop it expanded by acquiring the adjoining small shops and redeveloping them to meet the religious needs of the local Muslim community. Over time this space also became limited and so in approximately 2010, the trustees commenced a programme to redevelop the site and fund raising over many years.
The new centre opened its doors in April 2022. Now, we have ample space with two large halls for men and women. Our basement houses our evening and weekend schools for children.
The new space has wheelchair access and includes a lift for those that need it.
In our commitment to the environment, the new building is equipped with solar panels and all collected rainwater will be reused for services.
We hope South Woodford Islamic Centre will become a centre of excellence for our future generations InshaAllah.
